Hello Neighbors, friends and New York City!!!
As residents of the 28^th Council District of Queens approach the month of November, you will elect your next City Councilman to represent you at
City Hall. Before you do, mindfully consider my reasons about why I, Reverend David B. Kayode consider myself, with all senses of humility, the best City Council Candidate to both serve and represent you.

I would like to highlight four key areas my campaign is centered on: Employment, Education, Housing, and Public Safety.

As City Councilman Reverend Kayode, I shall address the double digit unemployment rate that currently but unjustifiably plagues our community. I pledge to implement a robust, enduring and viable job development plan for our residents. Essentially, I shall maximally utilize untapped resources both in and out of our District. Rather than allow these ready- to-use resources to go undeveloped, I shall optimally put them to effective use. A key strategy of my vision is to organize and mobilize key interest groups both inside and outside of our community to effectively and immediately hone into the causes and proffer remedies for the causes of our double digit unemployment problem, so that TOGETHER, we all can move forward in a positive direction, ESPECIALLY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.

               Besides my job development plan to keep our community moving in a positive direction, I shall commit to saving our public schools from the destructive and systematic attacks by community outsiders, who surely have no stake in OUR community!  I shall not stand by and allow the futures of our fathers, mothers, children, our brothers, our sisters, our cousins, our families, our friends, and our dear neighbors and fellow residents get destroyed by the uncaring and selfish actions of a negligible but financially entrenched few, who, either do not care, or care to understand the implications of what they do, as it impact on the future of our children! Yes! No one is talking, but there is a clear relationship between the inaction of people and not caring to learn how to read, write, and compute and finally ending up in jail! This is NOT what our community should represent! We can only fight this common cause by uniting and positively considering my candidacy! I AM YOU! AND YOU ARE ME!  As YOUR MAN in the City Council, I will not allow the continuation of the dubious social misdeeds of cutting off public education  to our community members, which translate into having more of our kids, our fathers, our mothers, our brothers, our sisters, being sent to jail because of the lack of opportunities to get educated! The social stigma of having served terms in jail ultimately presents fewer employment opportunities due to their criminal records. We refuse to continue going on this path! Please join me in NOT giving chance to the social injustice of cutting education, which will lead to incarceration. We shall play more prominent roles in National engagements and have more of our kids being role models in areas of sports, academics and politics, in this our great country, the United States of America! This is our home! And we shall make it good!!!

As American citizens, a vote for me is a vote for improvement to quality of our community life, such as employment, education, and decent affordable housing. After I am elected, I shall implement all my plans, so that I can effectively deal with the twin problems in our district, such as, the growing number of homeless people and the lack of decent affordable housing. This shall be with YOUR help! I intend to fix the problems by squarely getting them onto the “political” table and into the political forum for social action that will productively remedy these and any future, emerging problems. All actions of mine shall be in FULL CONSULTATION with you, MY constituency!

Lastly, as your City Councilman, I shall ensure that our streets will be much safer than they have been in many years. We shall work together to make the streets safe! Once in office, I intend to implement my new work-plan to key into the aspirations and hopes of various key groups in our community in order to ensure lower crime rates, through more effective education, enlightenment, social discourse, crime prevention, detection, reporting, recording, apprehension and sentencing leading to much greater public safety on our streets, in our parks, and throughout our district!

The future of our District is in our hands! We all know what our founding fathers want! We all know what we want! Remember that I can deliver what you want. But ONLY with your support!  Let‘s not leave things as they are and have been. The choice is clear about what to do. As situation in our community continues to grow worse, it is getting very clear that no one has done anything to effectively remedy our community’s problems.  Yet our children are being born and they represent OUR future! Let us stand up for OUR future! Let us stand up for Reverend Kayode!
